Product Description:

BioCeraMAX is a highly effective biological filter medium specially developed to improve water quality in freshwater and marine aquariums, paludariums, aquaterrariums, and terrarium tanks. This filter medium consists of small spheres, cylinders, or powder made from fine-grained sintered glass, offering an impressive filtration surface of 1600 m² per liter. This extensive surface area allows for the colonization of beneficial nitrifying bacteria such as Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira, which convert ammonia and nitrite into less harmful nitrates.

BioCeraMAX media provide ideal conditions for these helpful bacteria by creating a porous surface where microorganisms can settle and multiply. These bacteria are essential for breaking down organic waste that would otherwise compromise water quality and harm the health of aquarium inhabitants.

BioCeraMAX is perfectly suited for a wide range of filtration systems, including canister filters, overflow filters, internal filters with chambers for loose filter media (e.g., TURBOFILTER), sump tanks, and filtration chimneys. It can be used in both freshwater and marine aquariums and is especially recommended for tanks with large and numerous fish.

This filter medium is ready to use immediately and requires no pretreatment such as rinsing. Simply pour the contents of the package into the filter basket or filtration chamber. For best results, BioCeraMAX should be placed after mechanical filter cartridges and before chemical filter media.

One 1-liter package of BioCeraMAX is sufficient for AQUAEL filter models such as Unimax 150, Unimax 250, Midikani 800, Minikani 80, Minikani 120, ASAP, and Versamax. It is recommended to replace about one-third of the filter medium every 6–12 months to ensure optimal performance. When cleaning the filter, rinse the cartridge with aquarium water, not tap water, to maintain sterilization and effectiveness.
