Product Description:
Jun Platinum Soil Black Fine is an active, porous substrate made from natural Japanese soil with a fine grain size of 1.6–3 mm. It offers excellent filtration and absorption properties and is especially well-suited for aquascaping, planted tanks, and shrimp aquariums. The dark color enhances the vividness of plants, shrimp, and fish. Its slow nutrient release promotes the long-term growth of even the most demanding aquatic plants. At the same time, it reliably lowers and stabilizes pH, KH, and GH, creating ideal conditions for sensitive soft-water species. The fine grain makes it easier to plant delicate species, while its porous structure provides the perfect environment for nitrifying bacteria. This supports biological filtration and helps keep the water clear and healthy. Platinum Soil is ready to use straight out of the bag—no rinsing required—and can be placed directly into the aquarium. Any initial cloudiness typically clears up within a few hours. Suitable for aquarium beginners.
Please note: Jun Platinum Soil Black gently reduces KH and lowers pH to around 6.5–6.8.
Note:
For best results, Platinum Soil should be used as the sole substrate layer. Also available in finer variants—perfect for detailed aquascaping layouts. Can also be combined with other substrates like sand or gravel.
