Product Description:
Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 was developed based on detailed water analyses of the Malili lakes in Sulawesi to closely replicate the natural water composition of Lake Towuti. It is the top choice for particularly sensitive Sulawesi shrimp species, whose breeding and care require stable, harder, and more alkaline conditions.
The salt provides essential minerals and trace elements to support vitality, well-being, vivid coloration, and successful reproduction. It also promotes microbial regeneration in the substrate and filter while its special formulation helps reduce the risk of harmful pathogens.
Thanks to its higher target pH, Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 is ideal for species from the Towuti habitat. Less sensitive species like Cardinal shrimp can be kept successfully with either version – 7.5 or 8.5.
Instructions for Use:
Stir Sulawesi Mineral 8.5 into water outside the aquarium.
This salt dissolves only with added CO2 over several days:
• With standard CO2 addition (approx. 1 bubble/sec), it fully dissolves in 3–4 days
• Afterwards, aerate the water strongly for at least 3 hours to remove excess CO2
Then the water is ready for use. Adjust temperature to match the aquarium. Any undissolved particles can be added to the tank. Always close the container tightly after use.
Dosage:
- Remineralize to approx. 7 °dH or ~220 ± 40 µS
- 1 level measuring spoon (approx. 3 g) per 20 liters of water
